Candidates invited to an interview at Orange Anglican Grammar School are welcome to enquire about life as a staff member at the School, including staff development programs and facilities, department leadership and achievements, and workplace expectations.

 

Child Protection Legislation requires preferred applicants be subject to employment screening. It is an offence under the NSW Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998 for a person convicted of a serious sex offence to apply for a position at the School.

The dedicated and cohesive staff team at OAGS, whilst well supported by the parents and community, have continued to provide our students with vibrant learning programs, unwavering pastoral care and first class co-curricular programs throughout the past two years. This unrelenting quality of service to our community and children during difficult times, has not gone unnoticed. Our school population grew by over 17% last year and much the same is forecast for 2023. All support and operational staff are subject to the provisions of the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2017 (the ‘Agreement’)

Essential Criteria for all positions

The successful applicants must have the capacity to build positive and effective relationships with students, staff and parents to enhance student wellbeing and outcomes. Essential criteria for all roles include;

  • Active and committed to Christian faith and ethos of the school

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications for the position and NESA teacher accreditation where applicable

  • Knowledge of current syllabus documents and proven ability to develop contemporary teaching and learning programmes that deliver improved student outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability in using technology in the learning process

  • An understanding of and commitment to student wellbeing and discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to co-curricular programmes

  • Well-developed written, oral and organisational skills

  • An ability to work effectively as a team member

  • A commitment to ongoing personal professional development

  • A current Working with Children Check
