ANZAC Day 2018

This year OAGS was bestowed with the great honour of participating in both the dawn and mid morning services for ANZAC Day.

The Dawn Service was live streamed on the CWD website. Special mention must go to year 9 student Suzie Daugherty who delivered a beautiful rendition of the Hymn 'Abide With Me'. You can view the live streamed video here

Our students met again mid-morning to join together Marching in remembrance of our fallen soldiers. We are very proud of the students that attended and represented our school on this very special day.

School Captain Laura Sharp hosted the mid-morning ceremony along with the support of fellow school leaders Hamish Bracey and Jack Dixon. Mrs Colgan and the Secondary School Vocal Group delivered many beautiful hymns along the way.

Special mention must go to Isabella Kane (Year 9) and Primary School Captain Scarlett Gee (Year 6) for their brilliant solo performances at both the dawn and daytime services. Isabella sang the New Zealand National Anthem, while Scarlett sang the Australian Anthem.

It was an extremely proud and humbling moment to see our students represent our school with their heads held high.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them."
