HICES Cross Country
On Tuesday 29 May Orange Anglican Grammar School (OAGS) hosted the HICES (Heads of Independent Co-Educational Schools) Primary School Cross Country. The following 16 Schools attended this event:

Central Coast Grammar School
William Clarke College
Kinross Wolaroi School
Arndell College
Pittwater House
Redlands
Blue Mountains Grammar
Oxley College
St Paul's Grammar
All Saints College
The Hills Grammar School
Northholm Grammar
Orange Anglican Grammar School
The Scots School
Snowy Mountains Grammar School
Macquarie Anglican Grammar

In what was a tough competition on rough terrain OAGS came away as the HICES Cross Country Division 2 Champions. This is the first time OAGS has won the shield.
Nearly 700 students, aged 8 years to 12/13 years competed in this representative carnival which entailed undertaking 2000m and 3000m races across the newly developed OAGS Cross Country Course. The course was tested by students at the OAGS and WAS Carnivals with great reviews noting that the course is challenging and exciting.
This is the second time this major event has been held in Orange, but the first time OAGS has hosted. From this carnival a team of students were selected to represent the HICES team at the CIS (Combined Independent Schools) Cross Country Championships. OAGS students selected were: Jocelyn Blair, Sam Brown, Milla Jurd, Imogen Johnston, Blake Gleeson, Isla Stringer and Nate Lee.
The Orange Anglican Grammar School ‘Parents and Friends’ Association hosted a BBQ raising over $2000 which will go towards some exciting projects for the future.
OAGS Headmaster Rev Louis Stringer enjoyed welcoming our friends from the HICES Schools to Orange. With a new 8-lane athletics track, an Olympic standard long jump/triple jump pit and building soon to commence on two full-sized undercover multipurpose sporting courts, OAGS has much to offer considering the school only celebrated its first 10 years last year.
